Yesterday, students brought home order forms for BMS Christmas Sweatshirts. This is a fundraiser for the BMS Social Studies Dept. Hoodies are $25, and crew necks are $20. Orders will be taken through November 22nd. These should be ready to take home the first week in December. Please contact your child's social studies teacher with any questions!
Last week, our homerooms participated in a competition. Each day their homeroom had opportunities to earn points, which included participation in spirit week, decorating their classroom door, completing a college scavenger hunt & college logo activity, and the completion of a daily quiz about different colleges in WV. I am excited to announce the winners of this year's BMS College Cup: 6th grade - Jenkins, 7th grade - Smith, 8th grade - Aldridge. These homerooms have won double intramurals for a day! Thanks to all who participated last week in all of our activities!
Last week, our homerooms participated in a door decorating contest for College Application & Exploration Week. Their task was to decorate their door to represent a college in WV. Here are the results!

We held our third annual Career Day on Friday. Students were able to hear from 20 different presenters across the sixteen career clusters, including a pilot, accountant, instrument technician, attorney, river captain, family court judge, and more! Make sure to ask your students what they learned from this amazing day!
Last month, our 8th grade students were able to visit the Spring Valley CTE and see all the amazing programs they can pursue in high school.
The Bison RAZE Crew held their first commotion last month - Tobacco Free Selfie Station. There are now 15 members in our Crew! We are looking forward to more activities this year!
Our incoming sixth grade students were assigned homework this summer! They had to memorize important information such as their bus number, emergency contact information, and student ID number! The completers were awarded a Marshall bag with supplies, a BMS pencil, and a BMS bracelet.
This year, Buffalo Middle is focusing on rewarding excellent student attendance! Sulley Collins & Abigayle Ball were our first gift card winners (Amazon & Rocky Tops). We are excited to reward more students as the year progresses!
The Countywide Cell Phone Policy - 5136 - can be found on the county website. This policy supports our school's already existing policy that states cell phones and any electronic devices brought from home have to stay in a student's locker until the end of the school day.
BMS Wrestling Team - The team is comprised of students from Buffalo, CK, and Vinson Middle Schools. First practice is Nov. 11, 2024 @ 5:30 in the SV Wrestling Room. You must have at least a 2.0 GPA from the 2nd Semester of last school year and a physical dated after May 1, 2024.
